Turquoise Scarf

Turquoise Scarf

This Scarf is made out of beautiful hand painted Rayon with silk, twisted yarn and then some shots of chenille and some other “weft” decor on one side. Very subtle, along with my Spanish Lacing. I’m working with the same yarn and trying the open weave scarf styling that everyone likes these days and is nice for summer wear.

You can see some of the Spanish Lacing in this one as well in the pinky weft, it seems to go nicely with the open weave and then I alternated it in the plain weave with the turquoise which gives it a jewel like look. I’m sort of liking it. Now the open weave looks rather machine like but once it comes off the loom and washed it should move and float around on it’s own creating interest. I’m not sure the width isn’t too wide, but we’ll see how it goes.

#2 in the Turquoise finished, not washed

(Here it is, I was trying to capture for you that I have done a very open lacy weave on one side, which after washing will move around and be interesting, with a couple of areas of spanish lacing and alternate weft threads that give it a jewel like quality. It is very supple and feels great. On the other side of the scarf as it rounds your neck, I stopped doing the big open weave and did a tighter though still airy weave. It’s very cool.)
