Dave, Christmas Cruise 2007

“Courtesies of a small and trivial character are the ones which strike deepest in the grateful and appreciating heart.”Henry Clay

Dave didn’t make many entries in his Caring Bridge, but he made a few…  The photo you see is him having won the mini golf tournament on the ship in December 2007. He had a physical in November and by June 2008, he would be ravaged by Multiple Myeloma. We now know, that it is sometimes slow growing and undetected. That he had probably had it for a long, long time. But to look at him, just six months earlier you would never know that he wasn’t the pillar of good health (and an inch taller!).

Hello Everyone,

I am feeling stronger today. This week I will be working on taking medication and taking a new set of blood and urine tests. Next week I have a follow up visit with my doctor.

I want to let everyone know how valuable reading the journal has been.

I have been checking the website consistently, reading all the kind thoughts and prayers, advice, blessings, and well wishes. I can tell you each entry contributes to my recovery.

Especially on the not so good days, I like to go back to the journal and get a laugh, chuckle or revitalize a fond memory, and it helps me feel better.

Thank you for making this journal possible.

Gratefully Yours,

Dave Puente
